Stitch Free Pattern

Stitch Free Pattern

Intro

This listing is for an original pattern that I have written myself!

This pattern includes detailed instructions on how to make the adorable Blue Space Pal, a mischievous little creature with big ears and a curious grin.

It includes a list of materials needed, a list of terminology used, and it also includes details for eye placement and assembly along with several photos to help!

I use "Honey Bunny" or "Baby Snuggle" super chunky yarn from Hobbii (with a 5mm hook) for this amigurumi pattern however you can use any kind of yarn you would like. Please note that if you change the yarn it may change the size of the finished product.

Fun tip If you use a thicker yarn then your project will come out even bigger!

This pattern was made by me and is for personal use only, so please do not sell or share the pattern. If sharing or selling plushies made from this pattern, please give credit where credit is due and do not claim the pattern as your own.
Please respect this!

Blue Alien Pattern

Arms x2

ℹ. In medium blue

1 7sc in mr (7)

2 Inc in each st(14)

3-5. Sc in each st(14) [3 rounds]

6. Dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec (10)

7-11. Sc in each st(10) [5 rounds]

12. Dec, 3sc, Dec, 3sc (8)

ℹ. Slst and tie off, then weave in your tail

For the fingers you want to use your dark blue and start by tying a slip knot on your hook. Insert it in between rounds 1 and 2, coming out of the centre of your magic ring

Yarn over and pull a loop through

Yarn over again but only pull it through the first loop

Now continue to make a bobble stitch with 4 loops before tying it off

ℹ. Use the tails to tie down the end of the bobble stitch before weaving them in

Now you have your first finger

You want to repeat this 3 more times, making 4 fingers in a row. Make one more finger below the one you just made, and then 2 more fingers on the other side of the magic ring

Repeat all of these steps to make the 2nd arm

ℹ. You do want to stuff the arms but not too much so that you can still squish them flat a little bit. You don't want much stuffing in the open end because you will be flattening these later for crocheting into the body

Legs X2

ℹ. Starting in dark blue

1. 7sc in mr (7)

ℹ Colour change to medium blue

2. Inc in each st(14)

ℹ. In the next round you need to colour change for each bobble stitch

Each bobble stitch should be made in dark blue and the single crochets should be made in medium blue

The bobble stitches should be made with 4 loops on your hook

3. Sc, bbl, sc, bbl, sc, bbl, sc, bbl, 6sc (14)

4-5. Sc in each st (14) [2 rounds]

6. 3sc, Dec, sc, Dec, 6sc (12)

7-9. Sc in each st (12) [3 rounds]

ℹ. Slst and tie off the first leg

Repeat these steps to make the 2nd leg but do not tie it off, keep it on the hook and continue on to round 10

Body

ℹ. In the next round you will be linking the legs together

You may need to move the chain forwards or back by a stitch depending on your tension. For example, you might only need 2sc before the ch3.

You want the chain to line up with the inside toe. Just remember to add or takeaway a stitch at the end of the round if you do so at the beginning

After ch3 you will need to insert your hook into the other leg

Make sure the legs are both facing the same way and insert your hook into the side of the other leg

10. 3sc, ch3,12sc in other leg, 3sc in ch, 9sc (30)

ℹ. Stuff the legs

11-15. Sc in each st (30) [5 rounds]

16. Dec, 6sc, dec, 6sc, dec, 6sc, dec, 4sc (26)

17. Sc in each st (26)

18. Dec, 7sc, dec, 7sc, dec, 6sc (23)

19-20. Sc in each st(23) [2 rounds]

ℹ. Start stuffing the body

21. 5sc, dec, 6sc, dec, 6sc, dec (20)

22. Sc in each st(20)

23. 5sc, dec, 5sc, dec, 4sc, dec (17)

ℹ. In the next round you will be adding in the arms.

Flatten the open top of the arm and when it says to crochet through the arm and body, you will need to insert your hook through both before making your sc, see photo for reference

You will find that when you crochet the last arm on, you will go past your stitch marker for the end of the round. This is ok and you will actually be moving this after round 24

You may need to move the arms back or forwards by a stitch depending on your tension

24. 6sc, 4sc through arm and body, 4sc, 4sc through arm and body
(18)

ℹ. Now move the stitch marker to the loop that's currently on your hook and this is where you will start and end the final round of the body

25. 4sc, dec, 4sc, dec, 3sc, dec (14)

ℹ. Slst and tie off. Don't forget to weave in your tail and finish
stuffing

Head

ℹ. In medium blue

1. 7sc in mr (7)

2. Inc in each st(14)

3. Inc, sc, repeat around (21)

4. Inc, 2sc, repeat around (28)

5. Inc, 3sc, repeat around (35)

6-11. Sc in each st (35) [6 rounds]

12. Dec, 5sc, repeat around (30)

13. Sc in each st (30)

14. Dec, 3sc, repeat around (24)

15. Dec, 2sc, repeat around (18)

ℹ. Stuff the head

16. Dec, sc, repeat around (12)

17. Dec in each st (6)

ℹ. In the next round you will be making the little tufts of fur on the top of his head so if you need to add a little more stuffing then do so now

In the next round the stitches in brackets are to be made in the same stitch and in the FLO

18. [FLO, slst, ch2, slst], slst, [FLO, slst, ch2, slst], slst, [FLO, slst, ch2,
slst], slst(6)

ℹ. Tie off and close up, don't forget to weave in your tail

Right Ear

ℹ. You will be working in rows for the ears so before starting each row you will need to flip or 'turn' your project. You can make a ch before starting each row but that is up to you, I personally don't.

You will be making 2 of these, one in blue and one in pink. Start with the blue one

1. Ch3 (3)

2. Turn, sc in 2nd chain from hook, Inc (3)

3. Turn, 3sc (3)

4. Turn, 2sc, Inc (4)

5. Turn, 4sc (4)

6. Turn, 3sc, Inc (5)

7. Turn, 2slst, 3sc (5)

ℹ. The next 3 rounds make the little chunk out of his ear

8. Turn, 3sc (3)

9. Turn, 3slst(3)

10. Turn, 3sc, ch4 (7)

11. Turn, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 4sc, Inc (7)

12. Turn, skip a stitch, 6sc (6)

13. Turn, skip a stitch, 5sc (5)

14. Turn, 5sc (5)

15. Turn, skip a stitch, 4sc (4)

16. Turn, skip a stitch, 3sc (3)

17. Turn, skip a stitch,1sc, slst(2)

ℹ. Tie off and weave in the tail. Repeat these steps but in pink

Now you want to take the pink piece and place it on top of the blue one

Tie a slip knot on your hook with the blue yarn and then insert it into the bottom inner corner of both pieces

You are now going to single crochet all the way around the outside of the 2 pieces, sealing them together and giving the ear a smoother edge

I do recommend using a slst for the inner corner of the missing section of ear though

Now pinch the ear together at the bottom and sew it closed

Left Ear

ℹ. You will be working in rows for the ears so before starting each row you will need to flip or 'turn' your project. You can make a ch before starting each row too but that is up to you, I personally don't

You will be making 2 of these, one in blue and one in pink. Start with the blue one

1. Ch3 (3)

2. Turn, sc in 2nd chain from hook, Inc (3)

3. Turn, 3sc (3)

4. Turn, 2sc, Inc (4)

5. Turn, 4sc (4)

6. Turn, 3sc, Inc (5)

7. Turn, 5sc (5)

8. Turn, 5sc (5)

9. Turn, 4sc, Inc (6)

10. Turn, 6sc (6)

11. Turn, 5sc, Inc (7)

12. Turn, skip one, 6sc (6)

ℹ. The next 3 rounds make the little chunk out of his ear

13. Turn, 2slst, 4sc (6)

14. Turn, 3sc, ch3 (6)

15. Turn, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 4sc (5)

16. Turn, skip one, 4sc (4)

17. Turn, skip one, 2sc, slst(3)

ℹ. Tie off and weave in the tail. Now repeat these steps but in pink

Now you want to take the pink piece and place it on top of the blue one

Tie a slip knot on your hook with the blue yarn and then insert it into the bottom inner corner of both pieces

You are now going to single crochet all the way around the outside of the 2 pieces, sealing them together and giving the ear a smooth edge

I do recommend using a slst for the inner corner of the missing section of ear though

Last but not least, you need to pinch the bottom of the ear together and sew it in place

Chin

ℹ. In light blue

Round 2 is not a full round

1. 7sc in mr (7)

2. Inc x2 (4)

ℹ. From this point on, you will be working in rows and you will need to flip or 'turn' your project and ch1 before starting each new row

3. Turn, ch1, inc, sc, inc, sc (6)

4. Turn, ch1, inc, 2sc, inc, 2sc (8)

5. Turn, ch1, inc, 3sc, inc, 3sc (10)

6. Turn, ch1, inc, 4sc, inc, 4sc (12)

ℹ. In the next row the stitches in brackets are to be made in the same stitch

7. Turn, ch2, [Hdc, Hdc], 3sc, 4slst, 3sc, [Hdc, Hdc, ch2, slst] (16)

Tie off and leave a tail long enough to sew onto the body. The final round should give stitch a slight smile

Now you want to sew it in place on the head

Take a long needle and insert it through the centre of the magic ring on the chin and then also through the centre of the magic ring on the bottom of the head. This places your chin exactly where you want it.

Then pin the rest of the chin in place, the corners should be pulled up slightly like a smile

And sew it in place!

Tummy

ℹ. For this section you will be working in rows. You will need to flip or 'turn' and ch1 before starting each new row

In light blue

1. Ch3 (3)

2. Turn, sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc (2)

3. Turn, ch1, Inc, sc (3)

4. Turn, ch1, Inc, 2sc (4)

5. Turn, ch1, 4sc (4)

6. Turn, ch1, inc, 3sc (5)

7. Turn, ch1, inc, 4sc (6)

8. Turn, ch1, inc, 5sc (7)

9-11. Turn, ch1, 7sc (7) [3 rounds]

. In the following rows you will no longer be making a ch before starting each new row. Instead you will be skipping a stitch

12. Turn, skip one, 6sc (6)

13 Turn, skip one, 5sc (5)

14 Turn, skip one, 3sc, slst(4)

ℹ. Tie off and weave in your tail

Now you want to crochet around the outside to give it a nice smooth edge. Tie a slip knot on your hook and insert it in the top left corner of the tummy, then single crochet around the edge until you get to the top right corner and tie it off. Leave a tail long enough for sewing onto the body

Pin it in place on the front of the body. You want the straight
top edge of the belly to line up with the top of the body. Try to
centre it between the arms and sew it on

Attaching Head to Body

ℹ. You will probably want to use some long needles or skewers to hold the head in place before sewing

You want the magic ring from the chin to be in the centre of the open neck, with the chin and tummy lining up. And then once you're happy with where it's placed, sew them together

Attaching the Ears

ℹ. You will want to use a long needles or skewers to hold in place before sewing

The bottom of the ear should sit one round below the corners of the mouth. And it should be roughly 2 stitches behind the corners of the mouth

Once you're happy with where they are placed, sew them on

Markings on Back of Head

ℹ. In dark blue

1. ch7 (7)

2. 6sc in ch (6)

. Tie off and tie the tails together. You will probably want to weave the tails as you go to keep them out of the way

Tie a slip knot on hook, insert in 3rd st

3. 2sc (2)

ℹ. Tie off

4. Ch3, 2sc through main piece, ch4 (9)

5. Turn, 8sc (8)

ℹ. Tie off and tie the tails together

Tie slip knot and insert in 3rd st

6. 4sc (4)

7. Turn, 4sc (4)

ℹ. Tie off and weave in any loose tails

Sew into place on the back of the head. Try to centre it between the ears, in the middle of the head

Markings on Back

ℹ. For this section you will be working in rows, in dark blue

1. ch7 (7)

2. 6sc in chain (6)

ℹ. Tie off and tie tails together. You will probably want to weave the tails as you go to keep them out of the way

Tie a slip knot on your hook and insert it in the 3rd st

3. 2sc (2)

ℹ. Tie off

4. Ch3, 2sc through main piece, ch4 (9)

5-7. Turn, 8sc (8) [3 rows]

ℹ. Tie off

Tie slip knot and insert in 4th st

8. 2sc (2)

ℹ. Tie off

9. ch4, 2sc through main piece, ch5 (11)

10. Turn,10sc (10)

ℹ. Tie off and tie tails together

Tie slip knot and insert hook in 4th st

11 4sc (4)

12 4sc (4)

ℹ. Tie off and weave in the final tail

Place in the centre of the back. I line the very top of his back markings with the top of his neck

Tail

ℹ. In medium blue

1. 6sc in mr (6)

2. Inc in each st(12)

3. Sc in each st(12)

4. Dec in each st(6)

ℹ. Slst, tie off and try to get a bit of stuffing in there. Leave a tail long enough for sewing it onto the body

Use a long needle to hold the tail in place just under his back markings and then sew it on

Nose

ℹ. I personally use a hook size smaller for the nose but that is up to you

You will be working in rows so you will need to flip the project at the end of each row, but don't add a chain

ℹ. In dark blue

1. Ch2 (2)

2. Inc in the 1st ch (2)

3. Turn, Sc, Inc (3)

ℹ. Now you want to crochet around the top 2 sides like so - sc, inc, sc, slst

Now you want to flip the nose so the flat edge is at the top

Place it about 1 round above the mouth and sew in place

Eyes

ℹ. For the eyes I have attached a printable template with different size options!

When it comes to placing your eyes, I try to have the edge of the eye only just touching the edge of the nose, and roughly 1 round up from the mouth
